I understand your concern, and we in Community will try to help you in the best possible way we can.

Here are solutions to some common problems with installing updates. You might be able to automatically fix some problems by running the Windows Update Troubleshooter.

Use the Windows Update troubleshooter.

a) Type “Troubleshooting” in the search bar and press “Enter”.

b) In the “Troubleshooting” window, click on “View All” on the left pane.

c) Click on “Windows Update”.

d) Click on “Advanced” and then click on “Run as Administrator”.

e) Click “Next” and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process.

Please check the troubleshooting report in detail and check if it provides any useful information regarding the issue. You may also try the suggestion given by the troubleshooter and then try installing the update via Windows Update.

If the Windows Update troubleshooter didn't correct the problem, unplug all non-essential devices, such as webcams, game controllers, and printers, unless the update is for one of these devices, and then run Windows update again.

Hope the information helps, if you have any further queries, feel free to post. We are here to assist you.

Regards,

Guru Kiran

Tried this solution now and got the answer that the components were fixed.

Then tried to update again manually :

Some update files aren't signed correctly.

Error code: (0x800b0109)

So... that doesn't work.

Any other thoughts?

I tried to update this morning and "Windows 10 Insider Preview 11082 -update" no longer shows up. The last installed update shows "Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3124200)". Has Insider Preview 11082 been removed?

There is no link to a manual Update there. thank you though. That is just an announcement for the build, and contains no links to any kind of manual update.. period. Several people are having this problem, Spend more than thirty seconds typing a half @%$# response and actually research and try to find a real solution.

Hi Jaime,

Thank you for the response and keeping the status updated. I appreciate the troubleshooting you tried on the computer.

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:

  1. Export certificates from a computer that is not experiencing this problem. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Start Microsoft Internet Explorer.
    2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
    3. Click the Content tab, and then click Certificates.
    4. Click the Trusted Root Certification Authorities tab.
    5. Select all the certificates in the store. To do this, click the first certificate in the store, and then hold down the SHIFT key as you scroll down the list to the last certificate in the store.
    6. Click Export, and then click Next to start the Certificate Export Wizard.
    7. Click Browse to select a location to save the file, and then click Next.

Note Save the file in the default .p7b format. Use a naming convention that represents the store.
    8. Click Finish, and then click OK when the export is successful.
    9. Repeat steps 1d through 1h for the Intermediate Certification Authorities store.
  2. Move the .p7b file that you saved in step 1 to the computer that is experiencing the problem.
  3. Import the certificates to the computer that is experiencing the problem. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Start Internet Explorer.

    5. Click Browse to select the location of the file that you saved in step 1, and then click Next
    6. Click Browse, click Trusted Root Certification Authorities, click OK, and then click Next.
    7. Click Finish, and then click OK after the import succeeds.
    8. Repeat steps 3d through 3g for the Intermediate Certification Authorities store.
  4. Download and then install Microsoft Windows Defender to remove the Vx2 ZServ malware. To do this, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
  5. Reregister the Initpki.dll file. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.
    2. Type regsvr32 Initpki.dll, press ENTER, and then click OK after the command succeeds.

  7. Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.
  8. Type the following commands, and then press ENTER after each command. Click OK after each command succeeds.
    • regsvr32 Softpub.dll
