Why are we getting this Windows Autopilot update?

Windows Update has just release a "KB4523786 Cumulative update for Autopilot in Windows 10 v1903". Both Windows Pro and Windows Home systems are getting this. WHY?  According to the release notes, we should not be getting this. My system has no such product or feature installed.

I'm wondering the same thing from what I've read unless you computer was originally configured with it and your running pro then you should see this update but its says here https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4523786/cumulative-update-for-autopilot-in-windows-10-version-1903 that it should never be offered for home so I have no idea why you or I are seeing this update

Hi John,
I am Sumit, an Independent Advisor and a 2-Year Windows Insider MVP here to help.

Might be a glitch. Was this optional update offered as well released yesterday?

I can confirm it was a glitch for me, I attempted to download the update today and got a download error then restarted my computer and the update was no longer there. I can’t speak for anyone else though

KB4522355 was offered to me (but not yet installed) BUT only after KB4523786 was installed.

No, I do not yet see KB4522355.  All I have is a .NET Framework update (KB4522741) and the Autopilot update (KB4523786). I normally do not see these "optional" updates which are basically pre-releases of what will come out on the 2nd Tuesday of the following month. From what I hear you have to do a "manual Check for Updates" to get these off-cycle optional updates. I wait for the "real deal".

A Windows Autopilot update, which was targeted as part of the out of box experience for new devices, was incorrectly offered to customers running Windows Home edition during regular scheduled Windows update scan. Once we became aware of the issue, we stopped distribution of the update. No action is required on your part.

And you'll update the KB entry with this information when?

And you say 'No action is required on your part'  Does that apply if the updates was installed?  Your response is doesn't make it clear.
