Microsoft wants to know - Anyone seeing issues with the April updates KB3147461 and KB3147458?
Hi folks!
It's Patch Tuesday again, and I thought I'd drop by with a request for help. If you're seeing any issues with the April updates (KB3147461 if you have the original version of Windows 10 and KB3147458 if you have the November Update installed) I'd like to hear about them.
I'll be keeping an eye on this thread for the next few days, so if you're seeing problems please post a reply and let me know.
Thanks in advance!

I have used windows 10 for several months but the latest update has totally messed up many programs. I cannot access Microsoft store, Microsoft solitaire collection and several other programs. I get a message that they require new app to download and use. Can't get the apps as I cannot get into the store. Very frustrated and wish I had stayed with Windows 7. Any suggestions?

I think I may know about the problem you're seeing. To confirm, is it all programs in the store or just some of them? I've been having a massive issue where right-clicking in any desktop executable (most of the time on the desktop and taskbar) causes it to freeze and then crash. Sometimes just opening a program causes the desktop/taskbar to freeze up, and explorer will not restart from there, and sometimes the machine will entirely freeze up. This only started during the weekend. I've also just noticed today that disk activity is at a constant 100%, but that might just be me. Otherwise, I don't really use metro apps, so I haven't seen any issues there.
Hmmm... If it started during the weekend it was before these updates, so unrelated. I'd suggest starting a new discussion thread specific to the problem you're seeing. Thanks!

John,
My icon is not on my desktop, it is gone. I cannot even access microsoft store from the web or anywhere. Also I tried to open xbox and received the message "you need a new app for this-get it at the Microsoft store. I have restored, refreshed, reinvented, redone, and every other "re" to no avail. Very frustrated with windows 10 at this point. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you logging into your machine with your Microsoft Account or with a local account? This sounds like you're using a local account that was after-the-fact associated with a Microsoft Account, and then that association got broken.

Hi, I have KB3147458 installed today. I have version 1511, OS build 10586.218. I had rolled back to Windows 7 around September or October because there were some kinks back then.
I reinstalled/reupgraded Windows 10 in February. So far so good, and everything went fine with today's updates. No problem whatsoever.
So, I'm wondering if it may just be problems with updates from KB3147461,
I've went to Windows Store, opened up a lot of my apps like Microsoft Solitaire, etc., been online to FB, a message board I belong to, click on Microsoft Word 2010, etc. and have had no problems at all.
