Anyway to edit boot logo?

First off, Windows 10 has been a perfect run for me since I've upgraded from Windows 7. Now of course many other manufactures usually have their logo during the start-up before landing into the login screen, but unfortunately I'm stuck on the Windows 10 logo and yet I can't seem to change it.

I'm running Windows 10 on my 3-year old M14X R2 Alienware (getting a custom build soon) and what I'm asking is if there's a way to safely edit the boot logo at the start-up. Of course I took a try on various 3rd party software but they didn't work as attended.

Whether it's editable or else not a good thing to do, a answer would be appreciated.

I'll bet that sooner or later someone - probably not Microsoft - is going to figure out a way to do this. But so far I'm not aware of how this can be done.

Always had trouble configuring with 3rd-party applications, would be nice if Microsoft could take care of this.

Lets give it a shot, I have an HP Pavilion p7-1410 which has a hardcoded image in its BIOS, The computer uses UEFI + secure boot, If i turn off Secure Boot then the computer will load the logo from C:\Windows\Boot\Resources\bootres.dll because secure boot is disabled

Non UEFI Systems will also load it from C:\Windows\Boot\Resources\bootres.dll because Secure Boot is not availible

Open the file in Resource Hacker then extract all resources

Extract the file RCData_1 then you will find Windows Logos

Just all you have to do is insert all your images under the same name but set the permissions first!

Use 7-zip to create a .wim file then rename it to .bin then replace RCdata_1 with it

Please note that this may fail to work because you will have to break the signature with it.

Do you have to turn off secure boot in the BIOS.  I am assuming that answer is yes because I know it can be set there and have not found it elsewhere.

You should check if if your system supports uefi and then if your computer supports uefi use aomei partition pro to convert your disk to gpt and your computer should boot from your manufacturer's logo. You could get aomei partition master for free from onhax.net

This link is a very safe method. It is about replacing the bootres.dll file. Even if you delete the file there is No Problem cause the only thing going if you don't do right is your logo. Go to this Youtube link:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfNw5cKY6qI . If your logo gets spoilt or something just run sfc /scannow on Cmd promt Admin.
