IRQL UNEXPECTED VALUE WINDOWS 10

Windows Error Irql_unexpected_value errors are caused by missing system files or broken system registry structures. This is a critical sign of an unstable system that is typically caused by improper maintenance of the computer.

 

I would suggest you to try the following methods and check if it works for you.

Method 1:
 Perform Automatic Repair and check if the issue persists.

Follow the steps to perform Automatic Repair:
a.       Press  Windows logo + Q to open the search box.
b.      Click settings and then type Advanced Startup options, hit enter.
c.       Then Click Restart Now under Advanced Startup.
d.      Now Click Troubleshoot.
e.       Then click Advanced options and then Automatic Repair.

 

Method 2:
 Run System File Checker scan and check if there are system files missing or got corrupted. System File Checker scan will help you find and replace missing or corrupted System files.

Follow the steps to run System File Checker scan:

a.       Press  Windows + X key and click Command Prompt (Admin).

b.      Type the command: Imagesfc /Imagescannow and press Enter.

c.       Restart the computer and check.

 

Method 3:
 Try updating all the drivers from the computer manufacturer's website and check if it helps.

I've tried the methods listed above. They are no help. The command prompt line won't even work, computer doesn't recognize it as a command. Computer shuts down with an IRQL_UNEXPECTED_VALUE error multiple times, typically when I am using chrome or Utorrent or anything on my internet connection. I have gone over the drivers for my devices with a Microsoft specialist over the phone and we found nothing. All drivers are up to date. I have the .dmp files if needed, I'm not sure what the error is but as it is right now Windows 10 isn't functional on my computer, shuts down sporadically every few minutes, but typically when I'm using chrome and multiple tabs. 

1. I can't follow your method 1 since I can't find the Advance startup options. 

UPDATE: I finally found this option and when I clicked the Automatic repair It says that it cannot complete the repair and gave me an option to either shut down or do another option and also this :

log file D\\WINDOWS\system31\logfiles\srt\srttrail.txt

is

then I shutdown and re-open my laptop and went to that file directory and open the text file and saw this:

Root cause found: 
---------------------------
The operating system version is incompatible with Startup Repair

Now what do I do?

I have the same issues as Pauline. Can't work through step 1, because 'the operating system version is incompatible with Startup Repair'.

2.

The problem only occurs when starting YouTube movies in Chrome. I finished the scan like Pauline, but this didn't solve the problem. I also got a loud buzzing noise when restarting.

All drivers are up to date. 

I also have same issue. I did all the steps still same thing. Even reset Windows to clean nothing loaded ,all drivers up to date windows up to date . It is random for me. I can watch a video crash, play wow crash check email crash . Not one thing that does it. I even had just basic stuff no extra hardware video and hd still does it. When I used beta never had this issue until it upgraded me. Really starting to **** me off. My other computer had different issues with QuickBooks and could not find mail client. After installing re-installing I said win 10 not worth it and went back to to Win 7 Ultimate as it works flawless.

This IRQ error keeps going I will go back to win 7 on this machine to.

 

We do need the actual log files (called a DMP files) as they contain the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

I think it may have been my wireless card driver. I have been running good for a few hours so far. I uninstalled my tplink 450 wireless card and loaded drivers from tplink web page. I also disabled my built in network card on the motherboard and removed it from device manager. Seems all good now.

but I Think it is not an error..

I noticed that whenever an update finished downloading, the error pops up then it restart automatically..

however if it is already restarted it show blank screen.

well I just waited for the blinking led stops then I press then power button.

it goes sleep.

i press it again it shows my screen..

so I think it is the way windows 10 install new updates..haha

I do not think it is the way windows does updates. I have not seen the problem since I did manual driver update for wireless card.  Windows always likes to install what it thinks the card is and it is mostly right but sometimes it is not. This case that is what it was a driver that caused irq problem.  Process of elimination to find the corr3ect one. With mine it was going online and watching video or streaming or just going to google all random times but internet every time.

All good now and has not happened in a week.

I'm having the same issue here and the command prompt solution suggested by the Microsoft Tech here doesn't seem to be a valid command.  I tried the advanced startup repair as suggested, but it said that Windows cannot complete the startup repair and I got this log file:

E:\WINDOWS\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt

The strange thing here is that E: is my CD/DVD drive, so I'm not sure what that means.  The occurrence of my computer crashing is off and on at seemingly random moments and has become ever more frequent.  Any help would be great, especially from Microsoft.
