Windows 10 - Made Boot File - How to Use?. Getting error code "0xc000021a " while booting to the computer.

Original Title: Windows 10 - Made Boot File - How to Use?

My son has a Lenovo G50 laptop that he insistantly played games on (which he was told not to do). He had 6 downloaded from Steam along with another one that was from a gaming website. Not sure which one bogged down his laptop so massively that nothing would work - not even his touchpad mouse ... anyways!

Here's a list of the things we have tried to fix the computer based off countless Internet/Forum Board suggestions - it's throwing the 0xc000021a code:

1. Tried restoring to a previous date - none logged

2. Tried restoring by image - none logged

3. Tried Sytem Troubleshooting - detected no errors

4. Tried restoring by erasing all files (only keeping ones he had created) - error occurred and I had to start all over

finally 5. Tried restoring by erasing everything - full restore - got all the way through, restarted the computer, goes to Lenovo screen then we get blue screen of death with the 0xc000021a code - from here it just keeps looping over and over again!

Ok! So this is the juncture where I'm at. I made a boot file for Windows 10 and did all the steps using Rufus - but now I'm stuck at how in the world do I use this if I cannot get anything on the laptop to work???

I tried inserting it into the computer (I guess I need to mention that I made a USB drive with the boot files) and turning it on and it just keeps looping.

Is there a series of buttons that I need to hit? Commands? What else can I do to get this fixed?

Thank you!

Hi Demetria,

I realize the inconvenience you are experiencing with blue screen issue and not able to login to the computer.

This issue could if there is change in system file due to third party software on Windows 10 and leading to corrupt system files.

To assist you better, please provide us the information below:

  • When you say that "Tried restoring by erasing everything - full restore", are you referring that you have tried to Reset of Windows 10 or System Restore?
  • When you say that "stuck at how in the world do I use this if I cannot get anything on the laptop to work???", where exactly the computer is getting stuck? Is it at the login screen?

I suggest you to refer to the suggestion provided in the Microsoft Help Article about the blue screen issues on the computer with bug check error code (0xC000021A) and check if it helps.

Bug Check 0xC000021A: STATUS_SYSTEM_PROCESS_TERMINATED:

I did both the reset Windows 10 and the System Restore - the full system restore is when I got the blue screen when the computer booted back up.

As for right now, when you turn the computer on, it shows the Lenovo screen with the spinning wheel at the bottom, then it goes to the blue screen after about 5 minutes and says the computer needs to restart itself and give the 0xc000021a code - it just keeps doing this over and over and over. There's no way to get past this point. I cannot select a restart in the bottom corner. I cannot boot into safe mode - absolutely nothing! I have the USB drive ready with the boot load files and I have it inserted into the computer .... how do I make that work if it just keeps looping?
