Since getting windows 10 adobe lightroom 6 keeps going unresponsive. I have tried re-installing but no change. Anyone else had this problem?

Hi Peter,

Thank you for using Windows 10.

I would be able to assist you better if you could be more clear about the issue.

  • What do you mean when you say "Unresponsive"?
  • Are you able to use Adobe light room and after some time, it is not responsive or it doesn't launch?
  • Are you getting any error message or any error code?

Meanwhile, if you're able to launch it, then you may try turning off the graphics acceleration. To do so,

Go to Preferences>click on the Performance Tab>and then uncheck the box.

Write to us for further assistance and we'll be glad to help.

Hi, I can launch Lightroom but when I switch from library module to develop I get the message not responding. I have tried to uncheck the graphics box but the same thing happens. My p.c. Is now telling me that the programme is not compatible.

Cheers,  Peter.

I'm sitting in the same boat! 2 krasches in 20 minutes. And under W7 never a krasch. I can't believe Adobe hasn't developed LR 6 with 100% W10 compatibility!

Regards Hans

I'm having the same problem.  Adobe Lightroom 6 locks up and fails when moving from the library mode to the develop mode.  It is completely unresponsive and does not allow you to do anything, but shut it down.  It makes it totally impossible to process images.  HELP!!!

Same problem here. Any attempts to use the Develop module cause Lightroom 6 to not respond"ing."

Your suggestion along with the latest software update from Adobe fixed the problem.  Thanks.

I and other Lightroom users are having trouble launching the program because the program cannot use the database file in the My Pictures folder and I get the following error box:

I can use Lightroom 5.7 if I do either of two things:

1.  Go to My Pictures properties and edit the securities for computer users to Full Access.  This works only until the next reboot, after which the settings revert back to default.

2. Run Lightroom 5.7 as an administrator.  This is unnecessarily time consuming.

Please tell me there is a better way to give the program the necessary permissions to access and modify the files in the My Pictures folder.

I found this helpful but lightroom 6 program is now so slow, slow responding and you constantly have to re-click on the develop panel so that you can scroll.

I do understand that the compatibility with windows 10 is majorically an Adobe issue but I was so very happy with my LR6 before the upgrade . Now W10 and the issues created are making me wish I had never upgraded.

Is there a way I can easily go back to W7 until the two parties come up with a solution that does not involve me having to buy  new graphics card?

I am having the same issue and the Adobe sight says to disable to GPU option in performance but when I try it simply does the same thing and says "program not responding". This is very frustrating and started as soon as I upgraded to windows 10 almost 6 weeks ago. Why has this not been fixed, I can't even delete photos from the library in lightroom without it crashing and then when I restart the program the picture I tried to delete is still there!
