I have the exact same problem with this adapter. Have you found any solution for this? Or anyone knows a working IrDA adapter on Windows 10?

Hi!

No success so far. I started another thread of this problem also on MSDN forum. A bit more help there that it might be a driver signature related problem because it has been changed in Windows 10, but I'm not sure.

I contacted Polar support (who previously said they would update driver before Windows 10 came out) and they say they have no plan to provide new driver. Time to switch to Garmin HRM?

I've been thinking the same; if I need to replace my perfectly serviceable Polar watch I might as well switch for a better product. The Garmin Fenix 3 is very, very nice watch - and I the external GPS on Polar does seem to struggle with maintaining an accurate GPS signal here in Switzerland.

Still ALL the brands have limited Windows Mobile support; and by limited I mean none, zero, nada) - good job I've kept my iPhone 5 as my Nokia 930 windows mobile has limited application development in the "sports market".  I've contacted Garmin, Suunto, and Polar and they don't appear to have anything on the roadmap...so much for seamless integration.

 - yes I know this isn't the forum to whine about the lack of decent apps* on the WM8; but it is hard not to.

* don't get me started on OneNote being better on the iPhone

Polar's statement is here (and is just like you've described):

http://updates.polar.com/2015/07/windows-10-compatibility-with-polar-products-and-softwares/

Am quite happy with my Polar HRM but won't be replacing it with a Polar product. What a terrible way for a company to treat it's customer's when they could so easily release a compatible driver...

I don't understand why Polar has still old products like RS800CX on Web pages for buying. And also in many countries on pages of distributors. They want to sell but without support.  When you have Windows 10 you should buy new model. But maybe for next 2-3 years. Then it will be surely without support.  Thank you,  NEVER POLAR !!!

I can agree that Polar is not handling this very well but let's find a solution instead. Does anyone know about any IrDA adapter that works well on Windows 10 that you can buy? Polar software is working with any adapter supported by the OS.

Thanks for link re Polar [lack of] support.  Will not be buying a new Polar...TBH for the last few years they've seemed to lag behind other manufacturers anyway.  Maybe they are unable to recruit engineers that can fix the problem, because if they employed the engineers that can, maybe it would have been fixed?

The early versions with ProTrainer 5 suffered with problems that required hacks (registry/manual folder changes to fix).. So maybe they just aren't as good overall?

Polar, we loved you once, but now, like a pair of trainers bought in the high street it is time try out a new pair from a specialist shop...someone that y'know, cares...
