High Memory usage by ntoskrnl.exe System after upgrading to windows 10 home

Before upgrading to widows 10 ntoskrnl.exe System in my windows 8.1 only use 0.1 mb ram . But now ntoskrnl.exe System uses 250 to 600 mb ram and its usage keeps on rising when I open more apps . On windows 8.1 my Lenovo flex 2-14 with 4 gb ram uses only 1.5 gb of memory and now 2.5 gb of memory . Is it do to any kernel issues or bugs or is windows 10 is designed like this.

Confirmed way to purge standby memory leak, without having to run through DOS mode.

Download rammap.exe and run, it's pretty easy.

I had the same problem as yours, System and service host were using loads of memory and my 8 gigs were running out quickly all of a sudden, except this happened 5 months after upgrading to Windows 10. I tried every tip listed here and in other forums, the only thing that seems to have worked is clearing the SoftwareDistribution folder, this is a link with details as how to do it (solution 4): http://www.wintips.org/how-to-fix-svchost-exe-netsvcs-memory-leak-or-high-cpu-usage-problems/

It truned out to be a windows update issue.

Tried this, no difference. I think this is because windows 10 is not actually compatible with many device drivers, and their generic substitutes do not fit properly. Yes, I am a non computer person, so pardon the language. Anyway, I am furious with microsoft about this, and also wondering, wondering, wondering, when my graphics and device drivers will be updated to be compatible with Windows 10. I have a business to run, can't spend my time messing around with this ****. Soon to become an Apple person.

Hi,

I had the same problem. my computer was extremely slow, could barely click anything.

I uninstalled the latest windows update which was : (KB3124263)

After reboot it worked without any problem.

The only thing curious to me is that my RAM exploded to 99% literally 14 days after the update was installed.

It worked fine after the update was installed at first.

That makes me very suspicious.

Can the windows support answer to this maybe?

Regards,

Carl
