Every time on the first boot after shut down when the laptop is switched on its hangs just on the movement of the circular dots for the third time some time hanged screen shows one dot some thime three dots. Please help me out in resolving this issue. This problem has been crop up soon after updating the system to windows 8.1.

Hi,

Win 8 and 8.1 have a new feature called Fast Startup. It can sometimes cause problems like you mention as well as others.

The easiest way to tell if this is the problem is to turn it off and see what happens.

This feature only works when you do a SHUTDOWN and then Boot.

It doesn't effect a RESTART.

To turn it off or on...

Go to Control panel...Power Options, and select Choose What the Power Buttons Do on the left.

Then select Change Settings That Are Currently Unavailable near the top center of screen...

Lower down on the window, uncheck Fast Startup.

This may or may not help your problem, but is easy to check.

If this resolves the problem, then you can investigate what isn't loading properly.

Hi Moohammad,

Do you receive any error message?

Follow the methods below:

Method 1: Try to perform a system file checker (SFC) scan.

System File Checker Tool will try to help you in fixing all the corrupted files and folders in the computer.

a. Type “cmd” on the Start screen.

b. Right-click on it and select “Run as administrator”.

c. Type the following command and press Enter:

sfc /scannow

Method 2: If the issue still persist then try to perform a refresh on your computer.

How to restore, refresh, or reset your PC

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows-8/restore-refresh-reset-pc

Note: The Refresh will uninstall and reinstall all the apps downloaded from the Windows Store. But any app downloaded from external sources will be removed.

Note: You will need to reinstall Windows 8.1 again.

Do get back to us and let us know the status of the issue by your next post or in case you need further assistance. We, at Microsoft strive towards excellence.

Hi,

Glad it worked out for you... with updated drivers in the future, you may be able to turn Fast Startup back on.
