System Restore cannot find Local Disk (C:)

Because of a problem in a program file located in c:\Program Files (x86), I began to do a system restore to the time before the problem program was installed.

When the System Restore window opens for confirmation it shows that "Local Disk (C) (System)" is status: "Ready to restore" and the check-box next to it is checked.

The next line has a empty check-box for "Local Disk (C)" with the Status: "The drive cannot be found."
Anyone know what's up with the drive not being found? Is there a fix?

Answer
Hi,

Method 1
I would suggest you to perform system restore from the safe mode and check if that helps.

Start your computer in safe mode

Method 2
If the above steps fail, then I would suggest you to perform system restore from recovery console.

What are the system recovery options in Windows 7?
