I assume you cannot, but I would like to remove the pride flag from my task bar and this subject is not searchable by google. <Removed> Is there a way to do this, besides jumping ship to linux ?

That looks like the new Search Highlights feature.
To turn it off, right click on the Taskbar and select Search > toggle off Show search highlights

I just removed mine: right click on the task bar, go to "Search" (top option). This will pull up a drop-down menu. De-select "show search highlights". It immediately removes it.
