I am running Windows 7 x64 Home Premium and I have recently been getting Stop errors like crazy. All of them began (I believe the first was 0x0000007C) to appear around January 5th, 2011, and I have been searching all over the web for ways to fix them. It seems that I no longer get Stop error 0x0000007C, 0x000000FC, 0x00000096; however, I still get 0x0000001E and 0x000000A almost every time I log on to my computer (but never after the force restart and second log on).
Steps I have previously taken:
- System restore to complete factory settings
- System restore from system image disk
- Updated drivers from Gateway Downloads (Audio Driver, Card Reader Driver, Chipset Driver, LAN Driver, Modem Driver, Touchpad Driver, and Wireless LAN Driver [Atheros])
- Installed/Updated BIOS versions [installed/Updated in order typed] 9A24, 9A30, and 9A30b
- Browsed the web for solutions
- Downloaded ParetoLogic PC Health Advisor (the free version, which told me what I needed to updated)
- Ran Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to see if it was a virus problem (nothing comes up)
- Downloaded and installed Windows 7 x64 hotfix
- Repeatedly yelled profanity at my computer when a BSoD appeared
As I've previously mentioned, I seem to only get Stop 0x0000001E and 0x000000A now. I consider myself a little more computer savvy than the average computer user (that meaning I should understand the gist of what you are telling me to do or what is wrong). Can any help?
