Hi B4. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, here to help you.

You can try these fixes for the error when installing Updates:
https://appuals.com/error-code-0x800f0922-faile...
https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000129...
Is the Update bothering you? If not then just ignore it and it will eventually get installed. If it's bothering you then you can try installing it from Updates catalog here:
https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search...

Or you can use Hide Updates tool to hide it if it interferes, later it will be installed with the next version update which rarely causes the same problem:

Hide Updates 10

All other fixes for Windows 10 Updates are here:

Feel free to ask back any questions. Based on the results you post back I may have other suggestions if necessary.

KB5012170 fails with the error code 0x800f0922 when you try to apply that update on a system that has secure boot turned off.

Just my 0.02$: It's kind of ridiculous seeing these "you can try this solution or that solution" replies, even more so when the suggested solutions are basically lists of every possible way to **try** to solve anything...

"Reset every windows component", really.

Also: those error codes are not exactly helpful.

Maybe is because my old pc does not have TPM chip, that's why it showed "install error"?

This update will not install on all systems. If your firmware is one of those, MS is leaving you to resolve with your hardware manufacturer. A security update doomed to fail. I'm going to disable the update.

Just when I was at a loss, I thought if I could update the motherboard bios and system device drivers to solve this problem, so I updated the motherboard bios, motherboard chipset drivers, and various sound Bluetooth wired wireless network card usb drivers, etc., only I didn't update the graphics card driver bios, when I changed to a 4k monitor (DP), it was still dark

I had no choice but to unplug the power cord of the monitor and plug it in again. A miracle happened, and the monitor returned to its normal state. Recalling that I plugged in and unplugged the DP cable, HDMI cable, USB extension cable, and pressed the monitor switch, but nothing happened. unplug the power cord

At this point, the problem that the patch cannot be installed and the subsequent black screen event of the monitor have finally been solved, and the body and mind are exhausted.

Me too - you'd think that would eliminate the "hardware / driver issue" wouldn't you?
