Surface Pro Bricked after re-boot

Re-booted my Surface Pro after IE froze up and the system will only make to the following screen:

Security Device Support               [Enabled]

Secure Boot Control                     [Enabled]

Install Default Secure Boot Keys

Delete All Secure Boot Keys

Exit Setup

Version 2.15.1226.  Copyright (C) 2012 American Megatrents, Inc.

I have tried all number of combinations of the following and get the statement.

"Secure Variable Update is locked down!"

When I try to save and go back to the screen above.  No combination of keys can get me by this screen.

I have had this device for less that 24 hours and only installed MSFT Office software on it.

I have tried all the suggestions on boot sequencing with the backspace key, delete key, the F8 key Shift key you name it and nothing...

HELP

Answer

It happened to me. The touch froze on the screen, and I forced reboot it then it always brought that black screen.

The way I fixed it was to press volume down and power button, then release when surface appears on the screen. Then it came back to life.

Please power off the Surface Pro and disconnect the power adapter and any external devices, which includes the touch/type cover. Leave it in this state for about 1.5 hours.

Power it back on. Any difference?
