How to switch b/w nvdia dgpu and igpu?

I have an igpu and a dgpu on my laptop. When I run a graphic intensive application the system picks the igpu and on task manager it is under 80% load and so the cooling fan runs pretty noisy. In the nvdia control panel the physx config is selected to pick a gpu automatically. But my dgpu never seems to be used even I change the physx config to nvdia gpu.

So my question is how do I get windows 10 to pick the dgpu? https://solitaire.onl/ https://9apps.ooo https://bluestacks.vip/

The Surface laptop (the support forum you have posted on) does not have a dedicated GPU.

If you want useful answers you have to provide useful information. Otherwise you may as well be posting questions like; the thing that has the what'sit didn't do the thingy I wanted, why doesn't the thing do the what'sit that I want ?

You see my point !

It can be hard enough to find/formulate useful answers at the best of times, having no information and having to guess just makes the situation worse.

As noted, the Surface Laptop 2 that you picked for this question does not have a dGPU. The Surface Book and Surface Book 2 does in certain configurations. Regardless, the following instructions are for any laptop with switchable graphics.

Windows can now do this itself. In the Settings app, under System>Display, there's an option near the bottom of the page called "Graphics Settings". In this menu, you can force certain GPUs for certain apps.

I believe this menu requires Windows 10 v1809 or above to appear. You can check what your OS version is in the Settings app under System>About. You want OS version 1809 or higher, or OS build 17763 or higher.
