Bullet format in Word Web App

Hi,

When I want to decrease the indent, while I'm using a bulleted list, in normal Microsoft Word, I just need to press Enter. But in the Word Web App, pressing Enter removes the bullet and goes to the next line, so each time I need to select the decrease indent button. Is there a way to fix this, please?

Thanks!

Hi Daniel. I'm not seeing the behavior you're describing. When I press Enter at the end of a bulleted list the last bullet along with the indentation is removed, though in the web app we don't insert a new line like the desktop app does. Can you provide detailed steps to reproduce the behavior you're seeing?

Also, in case you weren't aware, you can easily change the indent level using the ALT-SHIFT-LEFT/RIGHT ARROW keyboard shortcuts.

Word Web App seems to behave like older versions of Word when you press Enter at the end of a numbered or bulleted item (without adding text to it). As far as I know, you can't change the behavior.

Michael has already suggested Alt+Shift+Left (right) arrow, but you can also use Tab and Shift+Tab (assuming that the insertion point is at the beginning of a numbered/bulleted paragraph).

Hi Michael,

Sorry I should have been clearer earlier, my problem was when I went to like a second level or third level with a bullet, I couldn't figure out how to go back out to an earlier level (decrease the indent). But ALT-SHIFT-LEFT (as well as Shift+Tab that Stefan mentioned) works! Thanks!

That's awesome, I didn't realize Shift+Tab did that. Thanks for the advice! I'll figure out over time which one I find more convenient.

The advantage with Alt+Shift+Left/right arrow is that the insertion point doesn't have to be at the beginning of the document, of course.
