Hi Diane,
My possible answer:
An attorney called and wanted to prevent accidental drag and dropping, between Folders in Outlook and emails to Folders in Outlook and Filesite. The method I found was to change a setting on the Mouse... Control Panel > Mouse > Mouse Properties > Buttons Tab > ClickLock Group > Turn on ClickLock. My Firm's default is unchecked.
The ClickLock feature will allow your selection to be highlighted. It allows for clicking and dragging, but, the item that was selected cannot be "released" until you click again.

Hi Diane.
I also have this problem, and think alot of other people have it.
I'm using a RollerMouse where the click function is where I move the cursor, so I accidently move folders around. Latest I discovered I have moved a folder to "Deleted Items" - not good, because all the emails was deleted without me knowing it.
If it is not possible now, then please take it up with R&D so it will be possible to have a popup message to ask if you really want to move the folder. It could be on moving folder only and not emails, or both.
Thanks.
Benny, Denmark

Cool - thanks for sharing. I don't think its an option in all mouse software but if your mouse software has it, use it. (Intellimouse software has the option .)
the drag n drop of folders must be the worst feature ever for a mailsystem. what you want is NOT a hyper dynamic filestructure that will mess around your sensitive information just because you are in a hurry. in any corporate setting you will have tons of folders with sensitive information and using MS Outlook will suddenly be a major operational risk.
Actually seems to work - if you set the setting to 'Short', otherwise it wont lock.
Yes, moving folders will break rules that use the folders and you'll need to repoint the rule to the folder.
