HOW TO GENERATE AND EXE FILE OF EXCEL FILE

I HAVE MADE AN EXCEL SHEET ADDING MANY BUTTONS USING CONTROOL TOL BOX COMMAND FROM vIEW-tOOLBARS MENU.

ALSO i HAVE ADDED MANY FORMULAS AND COMPILED A WHOLE YEAR ACCOUNTING SYSTEM WHICH COULD BE IMPLEMENTED IN A SMALL SCHOOL RANGING FROM 100 TO 1000 STUDENTS.

BY USING THIS SOFT PROGRAM ALL  ACCOUNTING ENTRIES ARE RECORDED ON IT AND THERE IS NO NEED OF ANY REGISTER OR RECEIT BOOK AND OTHER ACCOUNTING MATERIAL.

i HAVE A FEAR THAT IF I TRY TO SELL IT PEOPLE WILL READ MY CODING AND TRY TO MAKE A SOFT AT THEIR OWN AND THEN MY WORKING SHOULD BE SOLD BY OTHERS.

I WANT TO GENERATE AN EXE FILE OF THIS.

KINDLY GUIDE ME HOW TO DO AS I HAVE WRITTEN ABOVE.

I WANT TO GENERATE AN EXE FILE OF THIS.
This is not possible.

Andreas.

There is nothing built-in that will do that, but a Google search has revealed that there are some converters out there, some free and some for a price. Here are two examples (note that I have never used any of these so I cannot speak with any knowledge whether they work or not)...

Freeware: http://orlando.mvps.org/XLtoExeMore.asp?IdC=OrlMoreWin1

Commercial: http://xcellcompiler.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=section&id=18&Itemid=96

Wow, I am surprised to hear this as Orlando is a former Microsoft MVP and the link I posted is on the MVPS.ORG website... only current or former MVPs can secure a webpage there. If there is a trojan attached to his download URL, I wonder if he knows it. You might do him a favor and let him know your virus software kicked up a warning and let him know which virus software you use so he can check it out. A quick look at his site seems to indicate his email address is...

I think he knows that. I use www.virustotal.com to check downloaded files and for his file, 13 of 41 virusscanners shows that this file contains a trojan.

AFAIK all of such "converted EXE files" needs Excel installed, otherwise it's not possible to open such files. That's why I say it's not possible to build an EXE file from a XLS file.

So how could such a converter work?

I think he uses virus techniques to build an EXE file that covers the XLS file, the EXE starts Excel, loads the XLS file and use some spy tools to catch keyboard commands to generate a "protection". I tried such tools many years ago and this is what I've found (even an infected PC).

However, there are two reasons not to use such a tool:

a.) A file that uses virus techniques is a good place to hide a real dangerous virus.

b.) Even if we assume that the file contains no real virus, if I send such a file to a customer and his virus scanner detects a trojan, I'm quicklier fired as I can say "Uuups."
