Unable to open Microsoft Office Word and also my Windows shuts down with blue screen.

Original title: Microsoft Office Word.

I just purchased a new computer with Windows 7 Home Premium. I am having two problems: first I keep getting a blue screen crash that shuts down everything and then reboots and second I just installed the one month free trial for office and used Word once and can't open it again. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you receive any error message along with the blue screen?

 

Provide us more information about the blue screen system shut down.

 

What happens when you try to open Word application?

 

You may start Word application in its safe mode and check if it works as expected.

Press the ‘Windows + R’ key on the keyboard.

In the ‘Run’ window type ‘Winword /safe’ (Without the quotes) and press ‘enter’.

 

If Word works fine as expected in application safe mode, then disable the add-in(s) by following the steps below and verify the status.

I tried to open word as you said and it tells me windows cannot find file. As for blue screen: Problem signature then problem event name: bluescreen, OS version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3, locale id: 1033 It has a lot more codes and files and also says something about a mini dump. It goes off so fast it is hard to read it all.

Are you able to work with other Office applications?

 

You may repair Office 2013 using the following link and check if Word/Office application works as expected.
