Outline view

I can make an outline in the Outline view, but when I go to print, all of the tabs line up on the left. Why? How do I fix it so I can print the outline format?

Hello ,

As per the description you provided I understand that you are facing problems while printing outline view. Let me help you with the issue.

In order to help you better I would need more information:

Have you already printed the document or you have only checked the document in print preview?

To print in the outline view you will have to ensure the document is in outline view and then try to print.

Even if the print preview looks without the tabs , the printout will be for the outline view.

Hope the above information helps , Let us know if you need any further assistance and we would be glad to assist you.

Thank you.

Assuming that you print from Outline view via File | Print, you should see the headings indented in the printout. The printout won't show the plus and minus signs from Outline view, though.

As Deepak wrote, Print Preview does not accurately display how an outline will print. This has been the case for several versions of Word.
