Office 2013 typing slow on startup

Hello.

I have a problem with Word 2013.

When I open ANY document, typing is slow in first few minuets, but not in safe mode.

So I followed common solution on the internet. I Disabled office 2013 animation, hardware acceleration, and add-ins, and even re-installed entire office, but problem consists.

Again, this problem not occurs when I start office using safe mode.

How can I fix this?

From where are you opening the document?  Is it on the local drive or in the cloud somewhere.  If it is being opened from the local drive, is it being synchronised to a location in the cloud?
Hope this helps,

Both. I work on cloud and local storage documents, and problem occurs both of them.

I forgot to add this, when typing lag is occured, then word's CPU usage goes high. I think it's the reason... but I don't know why.

That works fine, but I have one question. Sorry.

Still, typing on 'online' document is still slow on first 1~2 minutes.

I want to know that that's common behavior of online document.

Hi,

A quick question before we proceed.

Do you have the OneDrive app setup to sync files?

If yes, you may right click on OneDrive icon in system tray>Settings>Performance>check the box “Improve upload speed by uploading files in batches” and verify the result.

Hope it helps. Reply with the result and I'll be happy to help you further.

Thank you.

Hi,

Before we proceed, I need some more information to help you better.

Do you see a down arrow symbol on files in OneDrive folder?

Is there any action pending progress notification at the right hand side of OneDrive app?

Have you enabled the option in OneDrive to make all your files available Offline?

To check the same follow the steps mentioned below.

1) Open the OneDrive App in Windows 8.1

2) Go to charm settings by pressing Windows + C or by swiping from the right.

3) Press Settings, then Options.

4) Check whether Access all my OneDrive files offline is set to on.

I kindly request you to reply with necessary information to help you further.

Thank you.

Whops. I totally forgot to reply your early answer. Sorry about this.

I found out that If I undergo that kind of typing lag, just saving document('save and upload to OneDrive') helps typing speed back to normal.

Thank you for additional solution.

Why do I have to go the the (equivalent) DOS prompt to make this change?  It should be an option, or load the templates when you ask for a template.  Is that the way 2007 and prior started?

It takes forever for word to start when  I open a local file - I don't use the cloud.

Is it Microsoft's intention to start Word/Office at the start of the day and keep it running?

And, don't get me started on the ribbon - change for the sake of change.

Regards, and no disrespect intended (just frustrated.)

Found this on another site:

Office 2013 slow to open

Office 2013 slow to open

As of late, any office software I open takes a long time to open...20 - 40 seconds. It used to open instantly but now lags when it opens. Well I found a fix for it...here's how. It worked for me.

Open any Office application first, Word, for example, go to Word Options, click on "Advanced" tab, and look for the following option in "Display" section:

Disable hardware graphics acceleration

Enable this option, exit Word, and try to start any Office applications.
