No Synonym menu on right click

Running Office 365 Home/Small Business on Surface Pro, Windows 8.1. When I highlight a word and right click I get a menu that shows font size, etc but no menu that permits selection a synonym or ability to add a word to my dictionary.  I can do this on one of my desktops which is also running Office 365 as part of the shared package of 5 installs. The right click menu feature does not work on my wife's Surface Pro or on her desktop system.  Anyone have a thought or similar experience

Let me help you to add the Synonym option back to the right click contextual menu.

 

This issue might occur if the Normal template for Word is changed.

 

You may delete it from this location:

Close Word and navigate to the following location and delete the normal.dotm template.

C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates

Note: Backup the template before deleting it. This method will delete the personal styles and also macros if any that is created.

 

Open Word and the synonym option will be available.
