Jump lists not updating to show most recent/pinned

This is a minor bug but I've got Word pinned in the superbar but when I right-click the icon to view the jump list with most recent documents and pinned recent documents it shows some older document I haven't worked on for a while (under Recent) but not the latest. Is there an easy fix for this? As I said it's minor but it slightly slows down the process of opening the recent files I'm after. I also tried pinning documents to no effect.

The result is the same in the jump list of the program pinned to the Start menu

Thanks

Hi,

You may try the steps mentioned below:

Browse to the location mentioned : %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations

Note: the folder ‘AutomaticDestinations’ is hidden. You may also try the following to location Automatic Destinations folder

* Hold Windows key +R.

* Copy and paste, or type the following command in the Open box, and then press Enter:

%AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations

Delete all the files whose size is 1MB or more.

Note: If you cannot find any file sized 1MB or more, then delete all the files. This will eventually remove the Jump Lists’ recent items for all the applications. The recent items on the Jump Lists will be re-added as the program is been used. If you delete all the files then ensure that the applications are pinned again to the taskbar.

If that does not help, then you may follow the steps mentioned below:

  • Right click on Taskbar and click on Properties.
  • In the Start Menu tab, click Customize.
  • Scroll down and check the box for Recent Items.

Hope the above steps are helpful to you. Reply with the results for further assistance.

Thank You.

Thank You.

I am using Windows 10 with Office 365 ProPlus.

This does not work for Windows 10 and/or Office 365.

I followed the first set of directions above: successfully deleted all files in AutomaticDestinations. Did not resolve issue.

I ran into problems while accessing Taskbar Properties:

There is no Start Menu Tab (MISSING) probably due to the Windows 10.

Any help would be much appreciated.
