Does the computer slow down when the Office applications are opened or is it the same even when the application is closed?
Start the computer in clean boot and check if the issue persists.

Note: Ensure to restart the computer to normal mode once troubleshooting is completed.
Clean boot is performed to disable all start up programs and 3rd party services on the computer and check if they are conflicting with the Office program. If so, you may disable
the unwanted software which
conflict with the suite or update the same.
