Word file not showing the whole documents

I tried to open my word file (edited in MS word 2007) in word 2013. But file does not showing the all pages (whole document) once it open.

Close without saving. Do any work using a copy.

You may have a corrupt document.

Was this transferred using a flash drive?

No, I saved the file before closing (there was 11 pages in the document).

I have downloaded the file from my mail and saved it into my computer. But when I tried to open the saved file it showing only three pages.

If you go to the source of the file that you attached to the email, how many pages does it have?
Hope this helps,

Did you do the following?

  1. Open the document directly from your email...
  2. Edit and work on it...
  3. Save it using Ctrl+S or File>Save?

Or, did you copy it from the email to your computer and open it in Word from the computer hard drive?

I had a similar problem with my docx document in the Word 2013:

I knew that the document had for real 146 pages

but the word 2013 was claiming it had only 76 pages even though the index in the left side viewed all of the headers from the rest of the document too.

I almost $h# in my pants since the document is a really important one and half of the document was lost.

When the document was opened with word 2010 it had all pages, so I knew that the file is not corrupted.

And because the index showed the missing headers I had the feeling that they are in safe place but the program has hide them for some reason.

The problem solved as the document was:

saved as type Word 97-2003 Document.

This is weird, but luckily it worked for me.

I don't know how this problem is solved if you are

using features that are only available for Word 2013.
