"Word cannot complete the save due to a file permission error."

Okay so this issue has been going on for quite a while now. Every time I use Word and try to save a file, I get this message: "Word cannot complete the save due to a file permission error." My PC has Office 2013 installed and I'm using Windows 8.1. Plus, I haven't installed any add-ins either.

Anyway, is there a way to deal with this issue? Thanks.

Are you opening Word itself then creating a doc, then trying to 'save as'?

Or Opening Word, within Word opening an existing doc to edit, then 'save'?

Is the doc on, or being saved to the local PC Libraries?

Hmm I haven't been able to create my own docs up till now so it's basically creating a doc, then trying to 'save as''. And no, I usually save my docs on my Desktop.

And if you save to the Libraries/Documents location?

Saving data to the desktop is not a good idea.

In Word, under File what does it say for activation status/Product Info?
