Word 2013 on Surface Pro- Inking with Pen and not finger?

I would like to use my Surface Pro and the included Pen to fill out information on a form and only have the pen write information on the document, so I can use my finger to do things like swipe up to scroll, pinch to zoom in and out, etc.  But when I touch the screen with my finger, it is recognized the same as the pen and puts a black line across the page.

OneNote does this without any problems, how can I set Word to act the same way?

Does the scroll bar appear if you move the pen cursor to the right hand edge of the Word Window?
Hope this helps,

The scroll bar is there no matter what.  Well, it does go away after a few seconds of doing nothing, but as soon as I touch the screen with my finger or get close to it with the pen, it comes back.

Use WordPad and check if the issue occurs.

Also check the settings if the Mouse Pointers are set to bypass these settings.

Thanks, but I am not sure how WordPad is relevant to my question.  I opened the form in WordPad, which doesn't display it properly.  Second, it does not recognize the pen to write directly on the form.  I can tap on "Paint Drawing" which recognizes the pen, but this is a separate bitmap that is inserted into the document.  Not practical at all.

And which settings are you referring to?  Word Options?  Control Panel?

I am thinking this might just be an oversight in Word and I am going to have to tap the pen on the scroll bar and be careful not to touch the screen with my finger.  It is frustrating that this is not an issue in OneNote, but maybe it was designed with more focus on pen input.

I am having the same problem.  Any luck with a solution?  I would like to ink ONLY with the pen and not fingers (keep them for scrolling) as in One Note, but in Word.  Thoughts appreciated.

Same problem here.  This is really silly.  The buttons on my shirt sleeve even cause inking when I have the pen activated or they accidentally scroll.  There should be a way to disable inking by other than pen so I can scroll with my fingers.

Same problem.  I like using the pen on my SP-3 to comment on word or excel docs.  I then swipe to scroll and get a line as though my finger is the pen.  Takes a few clicks to turn off inking or precisely use the scroll bar with my finger (not easy).  Would like the pen to write and finger for touch controls.  Anyone figured out a solution here?

Any solution to this yet?  Word should be able to recognize the pen and ignore your fingers, like it does in OneNote.  Can you tick a box in the settings tol make this happen?
