Word 2013: How do I get hyperlinks to function within Smart Art graphics?

Hyperlinks don't seem to work when they're created on text within Smart Art graphics. Also, when I save as a PDF, the hyperlinks function if they're just normal text but create them within Smart Art, and they disappear in the PDF version of the document.

You may try the work around provided below to insert hyperlinks in smart art.

  • Insert smart art
  • Insert a new shape, inside the smart art.

 

Right click on the share and insert text with Hyperlink.

Change the Shape fill to No fill and Shape Outline to No outline from Format tab
