Word 2013: How come the symbol of 'Show/Hide Editing Marks' looks different than earlier Office version?

Hi,

For both the Ribbon button and inside the document, the paragraph mark of the traditional 'pilcrow' (¶) symbol is now replaced with a symbol that looks like a carriage-return.

Is this normal?

(Using Word 2013 build 15.0.4675.1002)

Thanks to your hint. I found out that It is affected by the language setting.  

It is now back to pilcrow once I set the language back to English as Default.

(File/Option/Language/Choose Editing Language).

 It was set to Chinese (Taiwan) before.
