I have word 2013 and am commenting on documents drafted by students using the Comment tool. I was horrified when the comments appeared with both my name and photo. I want to remove this and just have a box with the comment in it. Anyone know how to do
this? Thanks for any solutions.
To avoid putting in your name and picture, go to File > Options > General; put some unrecognized entry (such as 'no name') in the User Name box and
a similarly anonymous entry in the Initials box; and check the box for "Always use these values regardless of sign in to Office". The comments will be labeled with the user name you entered, and the picture will be the standard no-picture icon.
To remove the name and picture from a document that already has them, go to File, click the square Check for Issues button, and click Inspect Document. In the
dialog, click Inspect. When the inspection is complete, click the Remove All button in the "Document Properties and Personal Information" section. Then save, close, and reopen the document. In all comments and revisions, the names will be replaced with "Author"
and the pictures will become the no-picture icon. (Caution: this will replace the names and pictures of everyone who has or will touch the document, including the student who created it.)
