Watermark is making my document longer

Hi,

I have a document that is 16 pages long without a watermark and 22 pages when I add one. I have tried smaller font sizes (on the watermark) but with same result. I have revealed formatting in the document but it is not clear why this is happening. Has anyone seen this before?

If your document didn't have any headers/footers before you inserted the watermark, you created a header and footer by doing so. This may have changed the top and bottom page margins. Try reducing these margins (in Page Layout > Page Setup).
