Tools drop down box in the Save as window

I am currently doing schooling, and using microsoft office plus 2013. In my booklet it goes into saving files wth a password attached, I know I can do this through the info option on the file page, but the booklet is asking me to do it through the 'Tools' drop down box in the 'Save as' window when saving my document. When I click on this drop down list it only give me the option to 'map network drive'. Can you tell me how to get the options I need in the drop down list to appear?

Do you not see a "General Options" item?  If it is there, click on that and then in the General Options dialog you can see where you can insert a password that must be supplied to open the document or a password that must be supplied to modify the document.

No, I want to see the 'General Options' item but all I see is 'map network drive' item... its the only item I see when I select that drop down menu..... Would you know how to change it so I can see that item?

Is the problem with all documents?

How about if you are using Excel?  The same options should be available.

If not, you might try repairing the Office installation.

I am having the same problem. I am using MicroSoft Office Professional Plus 2013.  I have done an Installation Quick repair and an Online repair with no change.

I checked Excel and the Tools in the Save As dialog box shows all the available options.

Any suggestions would be very helpful.
