The copy of grouping text box in canvas cannot work properly.

Hi, All.

First I am really disappointment with Microsoft they always release a bulks of bug application.

This time is Microsoft Office 2013. I am using MS word to do my document with using canvas and

shape. Previous version it work fine but now with MS Word 2013

when I make a copy of grouped text box inside canvas by press Ctrl+mouse move, if I modify the text in the new text box

it will effect to the original one too. Then if I delete the copy of that text box it will make the thing inside canvas all

messing up.

Anyone know how can I fix this problem please tell me.

I'm sure Microsoft will do nothing for user they just sell thier product and make benefit.

Best regard.

Hi,

Welcome to Microsoft Office Community and thank you for posting the question. I understand that the grouped text box in the Canvas dies not work.

Let us try changing the default printer and then open the Excel workbook and check if it helps. Refer the link on How to change the default printer on Windows 7:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Change-your-default-printer

If that does help, then update the printer drivers by calling the printer manufacturer and verify results.

If the above step does not help, then upload a sample file so that we can check. Refer the following thread on how to upload a screenshot to SkyDrive:

Thank You

Hi, Thanks for replying.

I tried to change my default printer but nothing change. I wondering that why you think the printer driver concern with this problem?

My problem is "When I copy my grouped object containing text box and some curve, the new grouped object that I copied will be sync to the original one. So If I change the text of the new copy grouped object it will make change to the original grouped object's text box too"

I post a sample file for you. Please try to check out. I think this really noobie bug of Microsoft Product.

There are 2 of grouped objects. You need to copy the third one and type some text to the new one and you will see the problem.

See below is what you need to be done to see this problem:

I am so waiting for your reply. This is so annoying me what I purchased for this product.

Best Regard.

What you describe suggests a corrupt document. Have you tried copying the document content, minus the final paragraph mark, into a new, blank document?

Hi Stefan

Thanks for replying. You lost my point. I know that how to show invisible character.
My point is how avoid to make this problem. Are you using MSWord 2013 now?

Can you copy a grouped object which combine from a text box and  a curve inside canvas?
If you can do this try to edit the text box of the new one that you copy. If this problem is not concern about environment you will see my point. Hope MVP can help me.

Best regard.

I wasn't able to reproduce the problem in your example document, no. Are you saying that it affects any document that you create in Word? In that case, have you tried renaming the Normal template (with Word closed)?

After you have restarted Word, and Word has recreated the Normal template, you could then try creating a new, blank document and pasting document content (as discussed earlier) into it.

Yes, Any document that I created in MSWord 2013 will generate that problem. My OS is windows7. Maybe you can solve the problem by copy the content to the new blank document but after that if you create a grouped object with text box it will generate the problem again. Didn't you mean I must always do it again and again every time I create some images in the canvas? It is not a good idea. It will be greate to find out why it occur not how to solve. It is not just one time miss. It's some kind of  "ALWAYS"  being like that.

Hope it will be solved soon.

Anybody have the same problem like me please give us some comments.

 Describe the problem again.

Seem the problem will be found in "MSWord2013".
"When I copy a grouped object which contained by textboxes and curves to the new one, and then I change the text in the textboxes it will be affect to the original one too" .
It make the textboxes in all grouped object become the same text.

No, you shouldn't have to repair the document repeatedly; once fixed it should stay fixed. The assumption here is that we are in fact dealing with a corrupt file, of course.

I recommend that you try renaming the Normal template, if you haven't tried that yet. Then restart Word, which will create a new Normal template with factory default settings. See if the problem is resolved for new, blank documents.

If testing with a renamed template doesn't work, try repairing the Office installation from Control Panel.
