Text not pasting into Word 2013 from outside source (Windows 8.1)

Hi, 

I recently got a Lenovo u430 with Windows 8.1. I've been having problems with text not pasting into certain programs such as JCreator and Microsoft word. In Word's case, text will paste fine as long as it is copied from within Word, but text copied from any other source will not paste. Ctrl +  V or right-click > paste just does nothing. 

Any ideas as to what could be causing it?

Are you able to paste contents/text into other applications on Windows (Notepad, WordPad, Excel or PowerPoint)?

 

From where are you copying the contents/text from?

 

To resolve the issue with pasting contents into Word, let us start Word in application safe and then check how it works.

 

To do that, press the ‘Windows + R’ key on the keyboard.

In the Run open box type in ‘Winword /safe’ and hit ok.

Note: There is a space between Winword and /.

 

If application safe works, try the steps in the following article and check.

As for issue with pasting contents/text into ‘JCreator’, it would be best if you post your query at their forum for better suggestions.
