Opening Word Perfect Docs via Word 2013 - registry fix

Hi

Windows 7 32 bit running Home Student office 2013

I have tons of Corel WP wpd files.  I want to click on the file, have Word open and convert the doc automatically, and then save it as a Word docx file

As it stands now, I have to open Word, find the file location, and go from there

I have attempted to set defaults to WPD (file association) but that as well does not work - nothing 'sticks'.

I would like to force the behavior through a registry entry

Failing that, is there a phone number I can call and pay a MS Support engineer to fix my issue?

Thanks

Ian

Answer
If you right click on a wpd document in Windows Explorer and select Open with and then set Word as the default application for opening such files, does that do what you want?
Hope this helps,
