Microsoft Word 2013 Performance Issue

Has anyone encountered MS Word 2013 (32-bit) using ~500MB of system RAM? I have a client who has 3 Word documents and they are working on manuals which are 100+ pages each. These documents are less than 10MB each..

 

They do a lot of copying onto clipboard and pasting etc.

 

Word seems to be unresponsive after awhile and we risk losing unsaved changes.

Check if you are facing this issue only therese files or not.

 

In case if the issue is specific to these file, then take the backup and try repairing the file.

 

Follow these steps to repair a Word file:

Open Word > Click on File > Open > Select the problem file > Click on the small arrow button in the ‘Open’ tab > Choose ‘Open and Repair’.

 

In case you are facing this issue with all the files, then refer to the suggestions in the following KB and check if it helps:

I am a colleague of Yong.

 

This is not only for one specific file, different users seem to have the same issue to different files.

So we want to check is this because of Word 2013 limitation, or how the Word 2013 is used by the users, they normally do documents with many graphics on the document, as mentioned above as well.

 

The solution you have above is for a particular file, if its happening to several users to some random files, can you help to give me details on how to approach to solve this issue? What else we need to check?

Hi Guruprasad,

Additional issue for some users are:

-Disappearing Images in a Word Document 2013
-Stability when cut/paste into a word document (they transfer some text/images from existing document to either same open document or another open document)

They mention they only have this in word 2013, before word 2010 is not having this issue.

We would really appreciate your advise so we can update the users affected on this.
