Margin Formatting Issue with E-mail Merging in Microsoft Word

Hi,

I was hoping someone could help me with an issue that I am encountering with Microsoft Word 2013.

I am e-mail merging, and I am having problems with the margins of the final product.  I've tried adjusting the margins in print layout and web layout, and can't seem to get it to work.

Any ideas?

Answer

The issue, when merging to the body of a document, is that e-mail message format (html) is radically different from Word document format. If you want to format the document so that it will have a better chance of working when you merge, format it in Web view as this is close to the Message format.

Better still, as Doug has suggested, merge to attachments, preferably in PDF format and don't use non-standard fonts unless they can be embedded.

Doug's add-in will do that, as will my own alternative approach http://www.gmayor.com/ManyToOne.htm . I don't know if Doug's will do so, but my add-in also provides the option to personalise the accompanying message, using the same data source, though the same proviso as above applies to the message format.
