I get message "can't connect to Wikipedia"

In order to help us resolve this issue, we request for more information from your end.  

1. Are you using Word 2013 which is part of a perpetual license of Office like: Office Home and Student 2013 / Office Home and Business 2013, or are you using a subscription based product like Office 365 Home / Office 365 University etc.?
2. Have you signed into your Microsoft Account on the Word 2013 and other Office 2013 applications? 

In the meantime I would request you to try the following step in Word 2013:

1. Open Word 2013. Click on File > Options

2. On the side tab click on Trust Center > click on Trust Center Settings which is in the right window.

3. It opens a new window Trust Center.

4. Click on Protected View on the left side panel.

5. Uncheck Enable Protected View for files originating from the Internet. Click Ok and Ok again.

6. Check if you can now access Wikipedia in Word 2013?

You can also click on Privacy Options in Word Options (Navigate to Privacy Options following the same steps as above) and make sure the option Allow Office to connect to the Internet is checked.
