Hi Deborah,

Let us try opening the Office applications from the Program Files location and verify the results. Browse to the following location (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\ClientX86\Root\Office15 or C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Office 15\ ClientX64\Root\Office15). Double click on the application icons (Winword.exe, Excel.exe, Powerpnt.exe and Onenote.exe) to open them.

If issue still persists, you may repair the Office 2013 installation and check if it helps resolve the issue:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-in/project-help/repair-or-remove-office-HA010357402.aspx

Follow the steps and let us know if that helps. If the issue persists, reply and we will be happy to help you.

Thank you

Thanks for your effort.  The programs are not LISTED in (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\ClientX86\Root\Office15 or C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Office 15\ ClientX64\Root\Office15).

I can RUN and type in Winword, Excel, etc... but I have no ICONS nor nothing to pin to start menu or task bar

How are you starting Word and Excel, etc.

If you click on the Windows Start button and then click on All Programs, is there a Microsoft Office folder and if you click on that, do you see the individual programs listed?  If so, right click on the ones that interest you and select Pin to Task Bar.

Hope this helps,

Thanks Doug for your effort Microsoft Office is not anywhere other than control panel under programs. Installed. The only way I can run a program is by Run and typing in win word, Excel, etc.   I am shocked that this has not happened to anyone else. I am deeply discouraged

I am unable to activate office 365. Same for Outlook 2013. Unfortuately, none of your suggestions have worked.  Anything else?

Office has been activated. However, I am unable to access Outlook. I get an error message: 0x800401k.  Should I start a new conversation?

Hello,

Thank you for replying.

Provide the complete error message you receive as well as a screen shot of it to help you better.

To resolve the issue, you may create a new profile in Outlook and check how it works. If new profile works, you may reconfigure the account settings and data file settings.

Refer to the following article on how to create and configure an email profile in Outlook and check if it helps.

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/create-an-outlook-profile-HA102749460.aspx

If that does not help and since the issue is different from the original issue, it would be better if you start a new conversation.

Thank you.
