Force users to use chosen fonts in Microsoft Word

We are using Microsoft Word and need to be able to force all users in our organisation to use a specific font, font size, paragraph spacing etc so that all our documents look the same and and when users use a different font the text will default to our chosen font.

It seems to me that we will need additional software to run with Microsoft Word.  Many years ago I saw a demonstration of GhostFill software which used Microsoft Word did exactly that but they are no longer selling or marketing the generic GhostFill software to any new users or third party developers.

Thanks in advance for your help

If you provide your employees with access to properly designed templates and provide a little bit of instruction in their use, there should be no reason for the users to depart from your standards.
Hope this helps,

Then, if you have provided reasonable training, why are you still employing them? There are lots of skilled people out there without jobs who would be happy to work to your standards.

In South Africa we have very strict laws re firing staff because of what has happened in the past.

Is there a solution that I can use with Microsoft Word?

Use it to write the necessary

  1. Notices detailing the requirements
  2. Letters warning of dismissal for non-compliance with those requirement.
  3. Termination letters when the mandatory number of warnings have been given.

You don't need third party software if Word is configured correctly for the users.

The issue sounds like it is with the availability of a proper template. If your staff are turning out documents that don't meet the corporate standard then they should be provided with a template that does. The usual problem is that the corporate templates are either badly designed with no thought for how people use them or not installed correctly so no-one can find them.

The template you want your users to have should include styles, ribbon customisations, content, macros, building blocks etc.

The second part of the problem is getting the template(s) out to the users so that it is easy to create or adapt their documents to the corporate style. If you wish, the template could include macros to enforce very rigid formatting but this is not recommended.
