Hello Joshu,
As per the description provided, unable to use the Equation editor in Word 2013.
Would require few clarifications to assist you better.
1. Does the ‘Equation Editor’ feature work properly in other Office 2013 applications?
2. Do you receive any error message?
To resolve the ‘Equation Editor’ option not available, let us try the steps mentioned below:
Step 1:
Download and install the compatibility pack for Office and then verify the results.
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=3
Step 2:
Repair Office 2013 installation then check if you’re able to find ‘Equation Editor’ options.
Refer to the article below on how to repair Office 2013.
http://office.microsoft.com/en-in/project-help/repair-or-remove-office-HA010357402.aspx
Follow the steps and let us know if that helps. If the issue persists, reply and we will be happy to help you.
Thank You.

I am having this same issue. Step 2 simply led to another error: "Microsoft Office Click-to-Run" has stopped working." Can I get an edition of word that doesn't depend on unreliable services like click-to-run so I can get on with my work?

Hello,
As I have mentioned in my previous post, if you are unable to repair the installation then it might be an issue with installation corruption.
So run the fixit available in the link below which removes Office 2013 traces from the computer.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501
Once done, try to re-install the Office suite and verify the status.
Let us know the result to assist you further.

As recommended , I have uninstalled MS Office 365 with the fixit.
However, when followed the instructions to reinstall a message pops up to say that " We have a problem installing either because you have insufficient space or no internet connection".
Please advice as now I a stuck in a more precarious situation then before, without MS Office at all.
I need this for my work.
I need a solution fast, thanks.

Hi Nayana,
I'm facing the same issue as well. I've done as above-mentioned steps and manage to get the Microsoft Equation 3.0 working again. However this lasts for a few days to a week and it goes back to the same error message of "not installed on your computer or it is not responding". I've repeatedly uninstall and reinstall my Microsoft Office 2013 for 3 times in just a period of 3 weeks! And this is not solving the root cause of the problem.
Hope there is a better way to resolve this as it is very disruptive as I use Microsoft Equation 3.0 very often.
