Continue writing in previous outline level in Word

Hi All

I'm writing a document and I'm using Headers and associated outline levels

I've got levels from n to n.n.n

I'm trying to figure out whether its possible to add text to level 1.1 after I've added several 1.1.n, i.e.

1. Some header

some text

1.1 some sub-header

some text

some level 1 text [I want this to be associated with level 1]

The idea is that if I collapse header 1.1 I still see the following text but if I collapse header 1 I don't.

Any thoughts?

(secondary to that, if the above is possible, I'd love to get ideas as to how to graphically indicate that I've moved back to level 1.

Let me assist you with Word issue.

 

Yes, you can add the text when you add several level in a Word document.

You can place the mouse and click on the location to get the cursor so that you can start typing the text.

 

You may enable the navigation pane under VIEW tab which would display each level in the navigation pane when you collapse the header.

Thanks Raju, I appreciate you taking the time, but I'm not sure this answers my question-

I understand outlining levels and the view pane.

What I'm not sure about is whether and how I can add text that is part of 'section 1' after I had section 1.1 with its associated text and before the 'section 2' header so that if I collapse section 1.1 I see the section 1 header and its text before and after the section 1.1 text.

I know this reads confusing, its a difficult question to phrase, but I hope this makes sense

If you work in Outline view you can show/hide all paragraphs below a certain outline level. Is that what you want to accomplish?
