Check boxes in protected form

I want to create a protected form with checkboxes.  In one section, user is to check one box or the other (not both).   Can't figure out how to do this item.  Anyone know how to do this?

I am not good with macros, is there another way.  Also found out that in the form, these checkboxes will be on a separate line.  Would I still be able to do this?

I know of no way to do this, in Word, without vba (macros). Now might be time to dip your big toe into that water.
