Autocorrect issues

it recognises my spelling errors, and I can change them, but when I right click it does not come up with the autocorrect button to change the word in the future. Originally my word did this, I have not changed any of the settings, the keyboard language and the autocorrect language match. I do not understand this. Please help as it's wasting a lot of my time as I make a lot of spelling errors etc.

thanks

Sadly, the AutoCorrect feature has been removed from the context menu. According to Microsoft, this was done to reduce clutter, but in fact it reduces usability... :-(

See http://gregmaxey.mvps.org/word_tip_pages/customize_shortcut_menu.html#WACR for a way to restore the context menu item.

hey, thanks for replying, however I have read all of that now and it makes little to no sense cause I can't interpret it into the autocorrect bit as my computer knowledge is not great. is there one specifically for autocorrect?

Yes - click the link on the web page indicated in the screenshot below:

As the instructions say, "put it in Word's startup folder or load it manually".

Word's startup folder is usually

C:\Users\

Try copying the file (Add AutoCorrect to Word 2013 Spelling Shortcut Menu.dotm) to your Word startup folder

C:\Users\

Then restart Word. You should now have an AutoCorrect item in your right-click menu if you select a misspelled word.

If you click the link that I pointed out in my screenshot a few replies up, you should get a choice between opening the file and saving it.

For example, in Internet Explorer:

and in Firefox:

If possible, save the file to the folder C:\Users\

If the file is saved automatically to your Downloads folder, you can move it from there to the folder mentioned above.
