Word - menus disappeared

Hi,  have Office Pro 2010 installed, all working fine for several years, one day all menu toolbars except "Home" disappeared.  The "Endnote" toolbar re-appeared, but none others.  Not in full-screen mode etc.  Any ideas???  seems like it might be a corrupt registry entry, but I have no idea how to fix this.  Tried removing Office and re-installing, but with NO CHANGE!  All other Office products (Excel PP etc) fine.   Most frustrating.....  thanks, Andrew
What happens if you double-click on the Home tab?

Hi Charles,  simply that the ribbon disappears also, and reappears if I double-click again....Same thing happens if I double-click the Endnote tab.

OK, I was clarifying terminology. Many people say that the ribbon disappears when they mean it is hidden or collapsed. It is your tabs that are disappearing.

This sounds like the work of an Add-In, the first suspect wourd be EndNote.

Try disabling all of your Add-Ins. You can do this by clicking on both Add-In buttons on the Developer Tab.  If the problem goes away, try enabling them one by one until you find the one(s) causing this problem.

Hit the Ctrl key then the F1 key to activate the ribbon. It toggles the ribbon on or off.

Mary,

Andrew has a Ribbon, but most of his tabs have disappeared!

Thanks for explaining Charles. If tabs are not showing click on “File” -> Options" -> “Customize ribbon” and under “Main tabs” check tabs you want to show on the ribbon. Toolbars and menus except for the "Quick Access Toolbar" were replaced with the ribbon in 2010 version.
