My document is not retaining its formatting (decimal outline formatting). It looks fine when I open it on my computer, but when I send it out it does not retain the outline formatting, even though it is the other person's default template.
Make sure that "Automatically update document styles" is cleared in the Templates and Add-Ins dialog box.
To open the dialog box: First display the Developer tab, if it isn't already showing; at File | Options | Customize Ribbon, enable its display. Click OK. On the Developer tab, click Document Template.
