Word Display Issue

Hi there,

I have an issue with Microsoft Office 2010 where when you scroll through, it garbles the text/chops it up. It is only affecting the display. If I save as a PDF or print it, displays without issue.

Tried the following:

- Changed zoom
- Changed font type
- Changed font padding/size/spacing
- Changed print in background
- Changed display settings for word
- Tried to run troubleshoot over drivers - failed
- Tried to add MS word as a custom app in Nvidia panel - failed

- Updated drivers

Nothing - still doing it.

As a bandaid fix I have found that if I zoom out then back in, it displays normally again, but if I  scroll back up and down again through the file, it starts doing it. (Document isn't big, it's only 3 pages)

Screenshooting doesn't help - it displays normally. If it happens again, I'll try and snap a pic with my mobile.

Any ideas?

Surprisingly Word makes extraordinary demands on the display adapter and your description suggests an issue with the display adapter or its driver software. Try updating the display adapter driver. Nvidia have frequent updates.

Sadly we already tried updating the Nvidia drivers.

Apart from updating the graphics card, any other recommendations?

I have an NVIDIA display adapter so I know it can be a pain to update drivers and check the configuration, but it occurs to me that you could try uninstalling the NVIDIA display driver and use instead the Microsoft driver. I have also found that not all updates make an improvement and you may like to investigate older drivers.

Just thinking out loud, if you change the active printer, does it still scramble the text? If not, try updating the printer driver instead. Word uses the printer driver to format the document.
