Word 2010 Legacy Form Drop-Down Menu Arrow Showing when printing

Once filled in; I'd like the people filling in the form to print what they've created; but the little arrow next to the drop down menus (legacy ones) are showing when I go to print; even if I've clicked off the field before printing. I don't know why they're continuing to show & do not want them to show on the printed form. Please help! So, it looks like the below - both "12-month period" & "February 2015" are drop down menus, but even if not showing when going to print, one of them have an arrow next to it on the print page. I just want to get rid of it.

Thanks!

Hi Angela,

Before we proceed I would require some more information to assist you better.

How does the Form look when print previewed?

Does the issue occur while printing specific Form or any Forms?

Let us create a new blank Word document and then insert the Drop-Down Form Field and try to print and check how it works.

In case if that doesn’t help, do get back to us with the results so that we may assist you further.

Thank you

Thanks for your feedback.

The snapshot above was from the print preview screen.

I created a new document and did the following steps:

Under Developer, chose the Legacy Drop Down Menu

Then, entered the properties

Chose Restrict Editing to Filling in Forms

And then chose the data. When trying to print, it has the same arrow as seen in the picture above.

When I use a regular (non-legacy) drop box; the arrow doesn't occur, but I have some items that require me to have if/then data (If 12-month period is chosen, then these options will be in the next box) and I don't know how to do that with the regular content controls, only the legacy ones.

Thanks!

Angela_Dawn,

It is not suppose to be that way for sure.  However, I can't explain why it is happening to you.

If you will tell me your requirements, I will show you how to do it with a content control dropdown.
