Mail Merge for Half-page Certificates

I'm trying to create award certificates for students who participate in student activities, like a science fair. The certificates are designed 2-up on a letter-size page. There are hundreds of certificates to produce, so I'm thinking mail merge is the way to go. Is there a template I can access, or a way I can set this up to use the mail merge feature in Word? Each certificate will include the student's name on one line, and the activity they parcipated in on the next line.
Answer
Answer
Yes, you can use mail merge.

On the Mailings tab, click the Start Mail Merge button and choose Labels.

In the Labels dialog, choose Avery US product number 8126, which is defined as two half-page labels, each 5.5" x 8.5".

In the first label, insert the merge fields for the name and activity, positioned to match the locations on the certificate. Then click the Update Labels button to propagate the fields to the second label.

Preview the results to be sure they're correct. With so many certificates to print, I'd suggest printing just the first sheet to make sure the data appears in the correct location on the paper, make any adjustments that are needed, and then finish the merge.
